Short version: we do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, passport or payment details. Booking and payment happen on Baolau's website.

Who we are

Asia Train Time is an independent online ticket agent and information site about train timetables and fares in Asia, run by Asia Train Time. It is not operated by any railway company. Contact: —.

What we collect

• Server logs: like any website, our hosting server records technical data when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use it to keep the site running and secure.
• Abuse protection: to stop automated overuse of live timetable requests, we keep a short-lived counter linked to a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address. It expires within minutes.
• Anonymous usage counts: when you press Book or load a live timetable, we add one line to our own count with the date, route, page language, chosen currency and page type. It contains no IP address, cookie, device identifier or anything else that could identify you, so it cannot be linked back to you. We use it only to see which pages are useful.
• We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, and at the time of writing we do not use a third-party analytics service. If that changes, this page will be updated.

Booking and payment

When you press Book, you are sent to Baolau, the ticket agent that issues your ticket. Baolau collects the details needed for the booking (for example names, contact details and payment) under its own privacy policy. We never see your payment details. The link carries our partner identifier so that Baolau can credit us, and Baolau may set its own cookies.

Other services your browser contacts

Some parts of a page are loaded from other companies, which means your IP address and browser details reach them when the page loads:

• Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) for the page font.
• Station map pages: the map library from cdnjs.cloudflare.com and map tiles from OpenStreetMap.
• Hotel links go to Agoda (partner links) and "Directions" links go to Google Maps, but only if you click them.
• Advertising banners and partner links: some pages may show banners or links from partners. If a banner is loaded from a partner's server, your IP address and browser details reach that partner and it may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy.

These companies have their own privacy policies and we do not control them.

Why we use data and how long we keep it

We use the limited data above only to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. Server logs are kept for the period set by our hosting provider, normally a few weeks. The abuse counter expires within minutes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under Thailand's PDPA or the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, or to object to its use. Because we do not keep accounts or profiles, there is usually little to find, but write to — and we will answer.

Children

This site is a general travel information site and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy when the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
